We are project funded. To get fundings we write application for grants, we have sponsoring memberships and collect donations via crowdfunding or creative actions.

Due to 15 years of work own a broad network of NGOs, associations,
and schools. We ask these contacts if we are searching for new, meaningful project locations. We prefer locations where children are not able to grow up under normal circumstances. Locations, that are desperately need a joyful impulse. We are convinced that educational institutions are also worth every support. It's a base of our work to choose the right project for the right group of people: 8th graders for example need another framework than 12th graders do.

KuKuk Kultur is working with a full-time CEO, a 60 % pedagogical head of construction, and a part-time fundraising position. The executive board works voluntarily. Craftsmen -women and playground experts are mostly employed by KuKuk GmbH and they take some time off their jobs to support our projects with their knowledge.

We are open for projects! Just tell us about your ideas while drinking a cup of tea or coffee with us and we consider if a realization is possible and how the project can look like.

It's all about a common process. About creating value that stays and about appreciation. It's about personal growth and being courageous. We would like to achieve, that our playgrounds stays alive and is taken cared of longterm instead of making a fire out of it during cold winter days. Because involving people means producing people that are proud of their work . It's about people that meet other people and noticing while working together that we are somehow all the same. No matter if you are born in a slum in Ethiopia or in Germany. It's simple as that!

The whole organizational part of a project from the bare idea, to fundraising, the travel organization and last but not least the realization takes around one year of time. 

Of course there are situation where we need to act immediately. In these cases we give our best to react quickly.

If you have a serious intension to join us for a project: get in touch! With a little patience we will find the right project for you, because not every project is open for volunteers. In generell you have to take care about your costs like travel, accommodation and food.

There are numerous challenges within our projects but language is barely one of them! On the construction site it's always possible to communicate with hands and feet.

We check the safety level of a country, region or city carefully before every project. With school classes we exclude areas with severe crises. We carry out projects in countries with higher safety risks with adults only. To reduce the risks for these persons we worked out a detailed security concept for KuKuk Kultur projects.
